Principal Accountabilities
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of special synthetic projects.
- Ensure projects meet all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Drive the development of new synthetic methods and processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Perform preliminary and in-process analytical work on reactions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and explore new research opportunities.
- Identify and evaluate potential new project opportunities.
- Analyze facts and make observations during reactions and apply this information to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field required.
- A focus in synthetic chemistry preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of chemical principles and reaction mechanisms.
- Comfort and familiarity with handling air-sensitive and pyrophoric materials (i.e. using Schlenk lines and glove boxes).
- Knowledge of modern analytical techniques (NMR, GC, MS, HPLC, UV, IR, TGA, DSC) and instrumentation for the isolation and identification of silane or metal organic compounds.
- Experience with laboratory techniques, analytical instruments, and statistical analysis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work in a chemical processing environment, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), (at minimum safety shoes and safety glasses. Respirators, gloves or other PPE) as necessary).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require occasional travel for conferences, meetings, and collaborative projects.

Pay
- The salary range for this position is $90k to $140k.
- Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.
- This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
