Process Operator (Gelest)
Principal Accountabilities
- Operate various types of chemical processing equipment, such as reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.
- Follow written and verbal instructions to produce specialty chemicals in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct basic tests and analyze data to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Gather, sign in, and sign out raw materials and finished products.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventories and flow of materials in production area.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Use feedback from processes to make necessary adjustments to maintain safe and efficient output.
- Collect samples of products at specified stages of the process for laboratory analysis.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Chemical or manufacturing experience a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Demonstrate basic math skills involved with calculating and interpreting data gathered during production.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Frequent lifting of up to and over 50 lbs.
- Stand for extended periods, lift heavy equipment, operate various hand tools, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Able to operate or learn to operate a forklift.
- Be aware of fire, safety and chemical hazards.
- Pass respirator fit test as required by OSHA.
- Able to hear and respond to all communications and alarms.
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts.
- Availability to consider fixed weekday day/night and weekend day/night schedule(s) based on company open position needs.

The salary range for this position is $23.00 (entry level)- $30.00 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
