Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow multiple fundraising portfolios simultaneously.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and engage individual and corporate donors in support of campaign growth.
  • Work closely with lay leadership to strategize, grow, and strengthen each portfolio, maximizing opportunities for relationship building, and engaging and leveraging lay leaders to increase dollars raised and expand donor base.
  • Provide necessary professional support to lay committees.
  • Develop and implement engagement events and programs.
  • Build relationships and educate donors and prospects through one-on-one engagement, agency site visits, volunteer projects, missions, educational programs, fundraising events, corporate/industry briefings and other meaningful activities.
  • Lead Entertainment team’s fundraising and engagement strategy for donors and prospects ages 22-40, coordinating the team’s efforts to drive and strengthen participation among young professionals in UJA’s campaign and activities.
  • Oversee at least one annual fundraising event, including managing honorees, leveraging leadership, coordinating with donors, and interfacing with internal departments while carefully coordinating logistics such as journal ads, seating, and program.
  • Collaborate with staff across the organization – including fundraising and non-fundraising professionals -- to develop and implement engagement strategies for donors, their companies, and their families.
  • Communicate with key internal and external stakeholders, including addressing and responding to inquiries.
  • Avoid assuming additional responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, or sales experience in relevant industries, required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Team player with the ability to multitask and handle multiple competing priorities, projects, and tasks while adhering to processes and deadlines.
  • Creative, energetic, self-motivated, quick learner.
  • Knowledge of and interest in entertainment, media and related industries a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Should be comfortable and adept at communicating and presenting in person and via digital/remote platforms.
  • Knowledge of issues facing the Jewish community and passion for UJA’s mission.

Reports to

Assistant Director, Entertainment, Tech & Lifestyle Division

Pay

$66,500 - $70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.
