Developer Advocate

About the role

We're looking for a Developer Advocate to empower and grow our global developer community. This role bridges the gap between Notion's teams and developers, helping us understand their needs and extend Notion's capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage, and support relationships between developers and our Product and Engineering teams.
• Build and publish engaging and helpful content, including demos, guides, API reference material, and blog posts.
• Amplify community-created content through @NotionDevs on X and other channels.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Business Development teams on API improvements.
• Own Notion’s strategy and presence at hackathons, developer conferences, and events.
• Manage key developer channels, including Notion Devs Slack, Notion Devs X, and developer docs.
• Work with marketing and sales teams to understand and showcase developer features.

Requirements

• A solid technical background and a strong presence in the developer community.
• An exceptional communicator, able to interface with both individual developers and large audiences.
• Able to build from 0 to 1 and own a program that grows as a pillar of the company.
• A creative mindset and interest in business opportunities that the Developer Platform opens and accelerates for Notion.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams to deliver anticipated products.
• Experienced at rallying internal stakeholders and managing projects on a deadline.

Skills

• Technical background and strong developer community presence.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build and lead programs from scratch.
• Creativity and interest in leveraging the Developer Platform.
• Experience working with engineering teams to deliver products.
• Experience managing projects and stakeholder relationships.

Nice to Haves

• Experience as a Developer Advocate, Engineer, or Product Manager at a company where API is critical to growth.

Pay

The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role's scope and complexity, and the candidate's experience and expertise. For roles based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated base salary range is $190,000 - $220,000 per year.
