Detailer & General Laborer- Heavy Duty Trucks

Hill Idealease, the tri-state area’s leading medium- and heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership, is seeking a part-time heavy truck/automotive detailer and general laborer to thoroughly clean and maintain the appearance of large vehicles such as trucks, buses, and other commercial vehicles. This position also includes shop maintenance and light janitorial duties in our service/leasing department.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean the exterior of vehicles, including the body, wheels, tires, and windows, using specialized cleaning agents and tools.
• Detail the interior of vehicles, including vacuuming, dusting, wiping down surfaces, and shamping carpets and upholstery.
• Inspect vehicles for damage, wear and tear, and ensure all components are working properly.
• Polish and wax the exterior of vehicles to maintain a shiny and protective finish.
• Apply protective coatings to the exterior of vehicles to prevent rust and corrosion.
• Perform frame and chassis component rust removal and descaling.
• Prep surfaces and vehicle chassis for paint or coating application.
• Apply single-stage frame paints and coatings.
• Keep the detailing area and equipment clean and organized.
• Communicate with customers to understand their specific detailing needs and preferences.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle.
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Perform grounds keeping and light janitorial duties as needed.
• Maintain the service department area.
• Jump-start vehicles as needed.
• Assist staff with other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Valid driver’s license with no accidents or traffic violations in the last 5 years.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• Mechanical aptitude; prior maintenance experience a plus.
• 1-year+ prior detailing experience preferred.
• Clean driving record required.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, lift 50 lbs, and sit/drive for extended periods.

Pay

$13.00–15.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 AM–2:30 PM or as needed. 6.5-hour shift.
