Desktop Support Technician

About the role
This technician will work as part of a rotating on-call schedule. The hours for this role are 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM CST.
Responsibilities
- Repair, test, image, and clean PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, and other related hardware
- Maintain, analyze, and troubleshoot software and computer peripherals
- Set up, configure, and add all hardware
- Perform install, move, add, and change tasks
- Support large IMAC (install, move, add, change) events for client printer migration and PC refreshes
- Ensure all tickets requiring follow-up work and/or calls receive appropriate attention
- Account for work using a visual task board, ServiceNow Ticket System, and during regular team stand-up meetings
- Provide face-to-face technical support to end users in-person at the customer's site
- Back up and burn end user data
- Assist in developing and documenting improvements to current processes
- Assist coworkers in resolving end users' technical issues across the program
- Support the Site Leader in executing established processes and escalations
- Assist with installations, configurations, upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities of server equipment
- Perform backup, recovery, and security procedures both planned and during emergencies
- Follow established procedures to detect, diagnose, and report outages of critical site applications
- Assist with diagnoses of network hardware and performance problems
- Perform approved installation, configuration, and maintenance of physical network
- Perform network system administration tasks both planned and during emergencies
- Diagnose shop floor PC deployment issues
Requirements
- Solid desktop fundamentals with experience in PowerShell, Intune, and system administration
- Experience with asset management
- High energy and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Working experience or strong understanding of enterprise technologies (Office 365, Windows 10 Professional, imaging, and ticketing systems)
- Experience supporting applications related to engineering, manufacturing, and logistics is a plus
- Confident, positive attitude to deliver great customer experience and invigorate personal interaction
- Deep understanding of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing PC/laptop internal components (motherboard, hard drives, RAM, CPU)
- Understanding of troubleshooting PC software (Windows blue-screen, Outlook, connecting network printers)
- Ability to work independently and be dependably available during scheduled hours
- Ability to handle multiple projects
- Experience working in an enterprise environment
- Ability to work with strong personalities
- Proactive work ethic with limited site IT leadership oversight
Pay
The rate for this position is between $19.50 - $26.00 per hour, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
