Desktop Fulfillment Intern
About the role
This internship supports workstation deployments, technology installations, inventory management, and end-user computing activities across HealthPartners. The intern will work with Desktop Analysts, Project Analysts, and Fulfillment staff to help prepare, deploy, and support technology used throughout the organization. Based on business needs, this position may assist with office moves, workstation replacements, facility projects, and technology implementations. This role provides hands-on experience supporting enterprise technology operations while developing technical, customer service, and professional skills in a healthcare technology environment.
This is a temporary, full-time opportunity with an anticipated six-month duration.
Responsibilities
- Configure and prepare computers and technology equipment for deployment.
- Deliver and install computers, monitors, printers, and related equipment.
- Support workstation replacement and deployment activities.
- Assist with office moves, facility projects, and technology implementations.
- Maintain inventory and asset tracking information.
- Assist with equipment receiving, staging, deployment, and recovery activities.
- Provide support for technology requests and fulfillment activities.
- Follow established processes, standards, and customer service expectations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Interest in Information Technology and/or technical support.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to lift, move, and install computer equipment as needed.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to HealthPartners locations to provide onsite support.
Qualifications
- College coursework in Information Technology or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working with computers, mobile devices, or technology equipment (preferred).
- Previous customer service or technical support experience (preferred).
- CompTIA, Microsoft, Google IT Support, or other relevant technology certifications (preferred).
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Temporary six-month assignment with the possibility of extension. Based primarily at HealthPartners' Bloomington corporate office, with limited travel to other HealthPartners locations as needed (estimated 100 miles/month).
Pay
Target pay rate of approximately $20 per hour. Compensation range: $16.00 - $27.00 hourly, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities as well as internal equity. Hired candidates may be eligible for additional compensation such as shift differential, bonus, sales incentive, or productivity pay.
