About the role
LRS Architects, known for its Civic Studio, seeks talented professionals at various career levels to contribute to the design of public spaces that enhance community life. The studio works on a range of projects from fairgrounds to justice facilities, aiming to create lasting impacts.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning, design, and technical development of civic and public-sector projects.
- Produce and coordinate BIM models, construction documents, details, schedules, and project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver thoughtful, high-quality design solutions.
- Coverage of technical information across architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and civil disciplines.
- Coordinate project delivery from programming and schematic design through construction administration.
- Participation in client meetings, consultant coordination, and presentations as experience grows.
- Application of firm BIM standards, quality assurance processes, and project delivery best practices.
- Mentoring junior staff and guiding project teams (for Design Lead candidates).
- Continuous development of technical, leadership, and professional skills through mentorship and hands-on project experience.
Requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
- Passion for designing meaningful public spaces that positively impact communities
- A collaborative, team-first approach with strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to continually learn and grow
- Experience working in Revit and BIM-based project environments
- The ability to contribute effectively whether independently or as part of a larger project team
Skills and Experience We Value
- Designer: 1-6 years of professional experience, growing technical and design capabilities, developing proficiency in Revit and construction documentation.
- Design Coordinator: 6-10 years of professional experience, experience coordinating project documentation and consultant work, strong understanding of building systems, codes, detailing, and project delivery.
- Design Lead: 10+ years of professional experience, experience leading project teams and mentoring staff, ability to coordinate complex projects while maintaining design quality, technical excellence, schedules, and consultant coordination.
