About the role

As a Designer with Gensler’s team in Tampa, your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce purposeful, functional, and beautiful spaces for our clients. You have exceptional interior architecture and design skills, a background in interior architecture and interior design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will be an integral part of our teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment. You should have a great reputation in the design community paired with a passion for mentorship and interest in further developing leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior design assignments that include interpreting client’s needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Deliver design solutions requiring independent judgment and application of best practices.
  • Responsible for the selection and presentation of furniture systems, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
  • Generate design with 3D models, Revit, SketchUp, or other software; create digital 3D views to communicate design concepts.
  • Select interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction.
  • Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts.
  • Serve as a primary contact for external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
  • Guide and mentor less experienced teammates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.
  • 6-10 years of relevant interior design and interior architecture experience within a commercial design firm.
  • 2+ years of experience providing mentorship and/or leadership to less experienced designers.
  • Pursuit of NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Highly proficient with Revit.
  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices.

Our annual base salary range has been established based on local markets.
