Designer - Material Handling Systems

About the role

The Conveyor Designer works under the supervision of the Group Manager, Project Manager, and senior engineers. They prepare and develop project deliverables, ensuring high-quality standards and performing assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply basics of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes for various conveyor systems, including baggage handling and parcel handling.
• Collaborate in designing system layouts and determining operational requirements to generate detailed system flows.
• Participate in validating system throughput.
• Create CAD drawings and details, including system as-built/as-installed drawings.
• Edit project specifications and reports.
• Track and report on project statuses.
• Perform field inspections of existing equipment, sites, and facilities as directed.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university preferred.
• Experience: 1 - 5 years of related work experience.
• Skills: Proficiency in Autodesk design software (Revit, Inventor), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of material handling concepts and engineering fundamentals. Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to travel and accept field assignments.
