Designer III
Description
The role involves preparing and maintaining engineering drawings for electric utility projects. It focuses on CAD drafting and design activities related to substation, protection and control, and other electrical engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and designers to develop, revise, and maintain technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Support drafting and design efforts for substation and protection & control projects.
- Incorporate engineering markups and design changes into existing drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, specifications, and drafting practices.
- Cook up with engineers, designers, and project teams to support project deliverables.
- Maintain drawing files, documentation, and revision records.
- Provide drafting support across multiple engineering disciplines as workload demands.
- Aid in the development of as-built and record drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Design, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD in a professional engineering or design environment.
- Experience producing technical drawings, layouts, schematics, or design documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting electric utility, substation, or protection and control projects.
- Background in electrical, industrial, or infrastructure design.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling software.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering environments and drafting standards.
Schedule
This role is a hybrid position with an expectation of three days onsite per week at the Cincinnati Annex Building. Part-time schedule of approximately 30 hours per week, with potential flexibility based on business needs.

Pay
$34.00 - $39.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
Schedule
Hybrid, 3 days/week in office. This role will likely be 30 hours/week. Could work between 30-40 hours depending on the business need.
