Summary
The Designer supports the architectural design team through all phases of a project, from concept through construction administration. This role involves assisting with design development, Revit modeling, construction documentation, and presentation materials while ensuring design intent, quality, and adherence to accessibility codes and office standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in project design documentation using Revit, including 3D modeling and material research
- Prepare and organize working drawings and basic block-out drawings (site plans, floor plans, elevations)
- Support design development and construction documents across all project phases
- Help produce marketing and interview presentation materials
- Absorb accessibility codes to drawings
- Support construction administration, including submittal and shop drawing reviews and RFIs
- Incorporate red-line markups from supervisors accurately and thoroughly
- Estimate hours for assigned tasks and complete work within agreed budgets
- Participate in design charrettes, professional activities, and other assigned duties
Requirements
- Architectural degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 1 year of architectural design experience preferred
- Proficiency in Revit, including advanced editing, drawing setup, and file management
- Understanding of construction documents, drawing organization, and architectural terminology
- Familiarity with CAD/Revit fundamentals such as layers, plotting, dimensions, viewports, and file maintenance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently
- Professional, respectful demeanor with clients, consultants, and team members
- Motivation to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $29.45 - $40.26/hour ($61,258 - $83,735).
Schedule
The position is located in our San Jose, CA office. The position requires 3 days in the office and the ability to work from home Mondays and Fridays; Fridays are also half days.
