Job Responsibilities
Work in collaboration with Magna Engineering to ensure all modifications to 3D virtual models, CAD assets, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data are systematically tracked, validated, and approved.
Release/Upload 2D drawings and 3D models in customer Teamcenter systems for GM and Stellantis programs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer engineering portals and data management systems, providing troubleshooting support, coordinating customer communications, and communicating requirements impacting multiple international cross-functional teams.
Update 2D and 3D models in both Catia V5 and NX. Design responsibility will range from single components to full assemblies.
Track 3D model status (Work-in-Progress, Frozen, Released) to guarantee cross-functional teams access the correct iterations.
Ensure GMs Integrated Materials Management (IMM) is updated and compliant for all components in Teamcenter and NX.
Collaborate across Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Plant Operations to ensure engineering changes, design issues, and customer requirements are effectively implemented, and driven to closure.
Perform vehicle level packaging studies, balancing physical space limitations, legal functional requirements, and manufacturing limitations.
Strong understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Able to independently devise dimensioning schemes that suit fit & function of parts while accounting for mating condition to other components in an assembly.
Participate in weekly customer meetings and present CAD data as necessary.
Ensure the CAD deliverables are progressing along the expected timeline and propose action plans should problems arise.
Exercise expert knowledge and skill when executing internal CAD change management, and when adapting to customer change management systems, in order to ensure accuracy and proper protocol when submitting math data.
