Job Description:The Designer supports Boston Globe Media's Marketing team by bringing campaigns, initiatives, events, and brand projects to life through strong, on-brand visual design.This role focuses primarily on design production and execution, while also contributing fresh creative ideas in support of marketing campaigns and initiatives. The Designer partners closely with the Senior Designer, Creative Director, and Marketing campaign leads to develop, adapt, and deliver creative across a wide range of channels and formats. Responsibilities:Design & ProductionCreate and adapt marketing materials across digital and print channels, including campaign assets, email, web, social, event materials, presentations, and promotional materials.Resize, edit, version, and repurpose creative for different channels, formats, and audiences.Prepare final files and assets for production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand and technical specifications.Maintain consistency with Boston Globe Media brand guidelines and visual standards.Campaign & Creative SupportSupport the Senior Designer and Creative Director in developing creative for integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives.Translate campaign briefs and marketing objectives into clear, engaging visual assets.Contribute creative ideas and design concepts that support campaign goals and audience needs.Partner with Marketing campaign leads to develop and deliver creative across campaign touchpoints.Provide design support for partnerships, events, brand initiatives, and other marketing projects.Broader Design & Marketing SupportProvide design support across broader Boston Globe Media needs, including internal communications and presentations, partner templates, creative asset organization, recurring design templates, and the Boston Globe Media corporate site.Maintain and organize creative files and assets to ensure they are accessible and easy for the team to use.Collaboration & Project SupportManage multiple design requests and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail.Collaborate with designers, marketers, and cross-functional partners to bring projects from concept through completion.Incorporate feedback and make thoughtful revisions throughout the creative process.Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices.Qualifications: 2-4 years of professional design experience, preferably in marketing, advertising, media, or a similar creative environment.Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, Canva.Experience designing for digital and print formats; motion or video skills are a plus.Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy.Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Openness to feedback and a collaborative experience working on a team.A strong portfolio showcasing both design production and original creative work.A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment What Success Looks LikeHigh-quality, on-brand creative delivered accurately and on time.Reliable production support across Marketing campaigns and initiatives.Ability to efficiently adapt and extend creative across channels and formats.Meaningful creative contributions to campaigns and marketing initiatives.Strong collaboration with the Creative and Marketing teams.The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.The annual salary for this role is $60,000 - $72,000.This range reflects the band for this role. We are committed to fair and market-informed compensation. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates could be hired within the midpoint of the range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by their particular combination of skills, experience, and qualifications.
