About the role

This position is responsible for the development of Panel Layouts, Wiring Diagrams, Electrical Schematics, Control System Networks, General Arrangements, P&IDs, and other electrical plans as needed.

Responsibilities

• Drawing of electrical layouts to include Buildings, Panels, lighting, power, using various standard symbols on specific projects
• Utilizing AutoCAD to modify client drawings such as general arrangements, wiring diagrams, schematics, P&IDs, and other documentation required for upgrade-type project work
• Applying familiarity with practices and procedures pertaining to technical matters including Construction, Manufacturing, Control System Design, and Electrical Engineering
• Reading and interpreting vendor information and applying that to design concepts as directed by Senior Designer or Engineering Supervision
• Maintaining attention to detail, consistency in work output, and awareness of project timelines
• Performing general administration such as paperwork, copying, printing, faxing, and using a computer
• Committing to meet customer requirements while maintaining quality work within a project
• Working with the project team for engineering support and problem-solving
• Inspecting, measuring, and assessing site conditions as they pertain to project upgrades, including general arrangements, cabinet wiring, raceway systems, and electrical equipment installations
• Exercising discretion and making independent decisions within the scope of job responsibilities

Requirements

• Two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Design in electrical or equivalent degree is preferred
• Generally, three to five years’ experience preferred, including working knowledge of tools and parts necessary for specific projects
• Expertise using AutoCAD 2024 or higher and AutoCAD Electrical
• Working knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity and ability to apply NFPA, NEC standards to designs
• Power Plant design experience, including field work, is desirable
• Working knowledge of computer equipment for proper setup and operation, in addition to Microsoft Excel, Word, and various office application software

• Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands
• Driving, lifting, climbing, and ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling

Working Environment

Standard office environment, on-site office environment, and diverse industrial environments. Frequent PC usage, copy machines, phones.
