Responsibilities

  • Partner with Workplace Consultants to review project scope, objectives, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Conduct client interviews and discovery sessions to gather programming information.
  • Verify field dimensions and ensure project information is accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Project Management to establish project timelines and deliverables.
  • Translate client needs into thoughtful workplace design solutions.
  • Create typicals, specifications, budgets, and design solutions based on client requirements and bid opportunities.
  • Participate in product evaluations, presentations, and bid responses.
  • Provide value-engineering options that maximize the client's investment while maintaining design intent.
  • Support Workplace Consultants during proposal and presentation development.
  • Manage outsourced design resources when utilized and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the design process.
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Develop final floor plans, furniture layouts, finish selections, and specifications using CET.
  • Present design solutions to clients and incorporate feedback as needed.
  • Revise designs and specifications through client approval.
  • Ensure service fees, discounts, and pricing structures are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
  • Prepare and upload proposals, drawings, specifications, approvals, and project documentation into EM1.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project records.
  • Perform detailed specification reviews and quality checks.
  • Coordinate peer reviews and double-check processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Revise and finalize specifications before proposals are submitted.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies before projects move forward.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare installation packets for Operations and Project Management.
  • Attend pre-installation meetings and project coordination discussions.
  • Attend site walk-throughs and punch-list reviews as needed.
  • Update as-built drawings for project records.
  • Support installation teams and project stakeholders through final project completion.
  • Assist in project closeout activities to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
  • Adhere to company design standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate timesheets and expense reporting.
  • Participate in company meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working for a commercial furniture dealership.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting workplace design projects from concept through installation.
  • Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems, specifications, and dealership processes.
