About the role
The Designer develops engineering solutions that meet customer needs by translating product requirements into detailed designs and drawings. This position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with client expectations. The Designer manages multiple projects simultaneously, delivering on time and on budget.
- Overall project responsibility, including:
- Verify the design meets performance and configuration specifications
- Contract management to verify the project is completed on time and on budget
- Customer management to understand expectations and standards
- Work on multiple CAD packages
- Create detailed CAD models of manufactured components and purchased parts
- Review CAD models for completeness, interferences, and manufacturability
- Develop detail drawings of purchased components and assemblies
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings of piece parts, weldments, assemblies, and schematics
- Review detail drawings for completeness, accuracy, and client standards
- Generate and review Bill of Materials for completeness
- Specify and source purchase components
- Prepare CAD models for FEA analysis
- Prepare project review booklets and initiate or moderate project review meetings
- Develop and update project timelines
- Review project scope to ensure alignment with contract and expectations
- Update and track action/issue items
- Prepare Engineering Change Order proposals for submission to customers
Requirements
A good candidate is someone who:
- Has the ability to interact at a management level with Manufacturing Operations, Sales, Clients, and Quality
- Has completed courses in trigonometry, mathematics, physics, machine shop, and drafting
- Holds a Computer Aided Drafting and Design AAS Degree or has any combination of education and experience that provides the required skill and knowledge for successful performance
Many tasks include both performing work and reviewing the work of others in the department.

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $78,000, dependent on experience.
