Designer

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Designers meet with customers, listen to project needs, educate on project requirements, and create design concepts that reflect personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support walk-in design needs.
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers; develop clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads.
• Provide advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously with high accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication.
• Use company communication tools and emails proficiently and consistently.
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals.
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices.
• Stay updated on current and emerging design trends in the market.
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car.
• Frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.
• Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

• Medium Work: Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel.
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

• Store Hours:
  • Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Pickup Hours:
  • Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
