Designer
Essential Responsibilities
- Design fiber optic and copper OSP networks for projects such as FTTH deployments and commercial developments
- Work with power companies to manage power routes and create one-line schematics
- Manage the growth and sustainability of existing networks, including relocations and infrastructure changes
- Perform quality control, field checks, and interpret OSP records
- Create system designs, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and provide construction quotes
- Conduct site walks for data collection and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Able to adapt within a dynamic work environment
Qualifications
- Education: College, Trade, or Technical Diploma (preferably in civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS)
- Experience: 3+ years in OSP telecommunications or related field using AutoCAD
- Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, Google Earth, Bluebeam, and Adobe. GIS is a plus.
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to interpret construction documents and collaborate effectively
Work Conditions
Office-based (90%) with occasional travel. The role will begin as a remote (work-from-home) position and will transition to a full-time, in-office role based in Florence, Kentucky once the new location is operational.
