Base pay starts at $15.80 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

About the role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all aspects of their project, and build creative design concepts incorporating the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with high accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication to customers and others
• Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails
• Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and other goals
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
• Responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
• Moderate to noisy work environment

Physical/Sensory Requirements

• Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

Store Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Pickup Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
