Designer

Purpose

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all aspects required for their project, and build creative design concepts that incorporate the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with high accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication
• Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals
• Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices
• Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market
• Responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications (e.g., Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
• Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy

Physical/Sensory Requirements

• Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Schedule

• Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Pay

Pay Range: $18.57 - $26.65 per hour
