Base pay starts at $15.55 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

About the role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Designers meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on all aspects of their project, and create design concepts that reflect the customer’s personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support walk-in design needs
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, developing clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple customer projects simultaneously with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent communication
• Use company communication tools and emails proficiently and consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices
• Stay updated on current and emerging design trends in your market
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Limited travel may be required by car
• Frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
• Moderate to noisy work environment

Physical/Sensory Requirements

• Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

Schedule

• Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Pickup Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
