About the role
Crate and Barrel Designers help customers envision home design possibilities using the latest trends. They build long-term relationships by guiding customers in furnishing homes and accent pieces.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales and provide a differentiated customer experience by interacting with customers in-store, in-home, and virtually.
- Create elevated designs for customers using preferred design tools to produce moodboards, 2D & 3D floor plans, product lists, and customer presentations.
- Conduct design consultations in-person (in-store or in-home) or via email, phone, and virtual meetings.
- Deliver projects on time and within set timelines.
- Possess a clear understanding of the brand's aesthetics and merchandising strategy across channels (Store, E-Commerce, Catalog).
- Stay updated on product information, industry trends, and competitor insights.
- Achieve individual sales, KPIs, and service goals, and engage customers on the sales floor by demonstrating selling skills.
- Listen actively to customer needs to recommend suitable products and communicate loyalty services.
- Support and model excellent service by maintaining a positive attitude and ensuring all customers receive quick, efficient, and gracious service.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers through networking and clienteling.
- Train and educate on design services to enhance understanding of design offerings and services.
Requirements
- Understand basic design functions including spatial planning, fabric selection, lighting, and interior design styles.
- Have excellent, effective, and timely communication skills to translate the brand vision and customer needs.
- Show strong affinity for technology (2D and 3D tools, Google suite, video conferencing), and be proficient in floor planning.
- Be able to stay updated on current design trends and adapt to changes in the business.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of relevant experience in Furniture Sales, Home Decor Design, or retail/customer service.
- Experience working one-on-one with clients and recommending solutions.
- Proficiency in Google platforms, virtual communication, and design tool experience is preferred.
