Designer
About the role
The Electro-Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating and modifying 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings for electro-mechanical products, assemblies, and enclosures using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support new product development, improve existing designs, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure products are ready for manufacturing. This position also includes designing complex plastic injection molded and machined components, maintaining engineering documentation and BOMs, supporting prototype builds and testing, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams for new product development.
- Improve existing designs and troubleshoot production issues.
- Design complex plastic injection molded and machined components.
- Maintain engineering documentation and BOMs.
- Support prototype builds and testing.
- Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Essential skills
- Proficiency in CAD Software (Inventor/AutoCAD).
- Experience with plastic injection molding design.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Additional skills & qualifications
- Experience with 3D printing for prototyping and design validation.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor for developing accurate 3D models.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating detailed 2D engineering drawings.
Work environment
The position is based onsite with working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. This role offers an opportunity to work on innovative products in EV charging, fleet management, and workforce technology. Job type & location
This is a Contract position based out of Enfield, CT.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
