Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in the design and development of new products.
- Reviews requirements or instructions from an Engineer to design and develop new components or redesign existing components to enhance company products.
- Collaborates with an Engineer to assess the feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities, taking into account costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Communicates with Engineers to address issues and develops design for research and development purposes.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
- Collaborates with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as needed.
- Supports the development of product design and functionality.
- Provides support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled according to the intended functionality of the design.
- Reviews engineering drawings, analyzes design, and retrieves necessary information to complete drawing, layout, or design.
- Utilizes detail drawing or engineering specifications to dimension, scale, or line locate.
Requirements
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate's degree in Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience in an engineering environment.
- Experience using SolidWorks, PTC Pro-Engineer (Creo), and/or AutoCAD software for mechanical design.
- Experience using ERP software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
- Subsea experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, use of hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; talking or hearing.
- Occasional walking; sitting; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment/Conditions
- Primarily indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility, but may also require outdoor work on occasion.
- On-site presence is required.
- Limited travel may be required to support offsite personnel and business projects.
- Occasional assignments may require remote access and may include evening or weekend schedules.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
