Full‑Time position, 1st shift. US citizenship required. Travel 10%–25% of the time. No relocation assistance, no telework eligibility.

About the role

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer‑aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA. Gathers information, conducts studies, performs calculations, and prepares original rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups, considering ease of manufacture, material availability, and contractual specifications. Excludes classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline plus 1 year of experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with piping systems on Naval Surface Ships.
