Design Technician V - On-site
Responsibilities
- Program and operate various CNC vertical machining centers, Wire EDMs, manual grinders, lathes, and secondary operation equipment.
- Analyze drawings, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications to prepare metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures.
- Utilize machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to calculate dimensions and ensure tolerances are met.
- Perform precision machining work to meet exacting tolerances and dimensions, while revising designs and solving problems as needed.
- Monitor and verify quality and safety compliance in alignment with Medtronic's standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in a tool room environment.
- Knowledge of setting up and running Haas vertical machining centers, lathes, and wire EDMs.
- Proficiency in programming using Mastercam software.
- Familiarity with navigating Creo Parametric.
- Understanding of cutting tool geometry and applications.
- Ability to read and interpret advanced drawings with GD&T.
Skills
- Conceptualizing and sketching tools, fixtures, and gauges.
Benefits
Salary ranges for U.S. (excl. PR) locations (USD): $90,400.00 - $135,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.
Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.
Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
