About the role

Across our global Neuroscience organization, we advance care for some of medicine’s most complex neurological and spinal conditions. By combining innovative technology, data-driven insights, and deep clinical expertise, we partner with physicians and health systems to improve how patients are treated and supported throughout their care journey. Our Neuromodulation operating unit delivers advanced therapies for chronic pain, movement disorders, and nervous system conditions, offering SCS, DBS, and targeted drug delivery. At Medtronic’s Rice Creek Manufacturing site, we are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Technician V to join our team. In this critical role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes and equipment. You will also work closely with design and engineering teams to create fixtures, molds, test fixtures, and miscellaneous parts that require manufacturing using machine tools. As a key contributor to our Rice Creek site, you’ll work in a dynamic environment where your skills will help shape the future of life-saving medical technologies. Responsibilities

• Program and operate various CNC vertical machining centers, Wire EDMs, manual grinders, lathes, and secondary operation equipment
• Analyze drawings, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications to prepare metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures
• Utilize machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to calculate dimensions and ensure tolerances are met
• Perform precision machining work to meet exacting tolerances and dimensions, while revising designs and solving problems as needed
• Monitor and verify compliance with quality and safety standards in alignment with Medtronic's standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required

Skills

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience in a tool room environment
• Knowledge of setting up and running Haas vertical machining centers, lathes, and wire EDMs
• Proficiency in programming using Mastercam software
• Familiarity with navigating Creo Parametric
• Understanding of cutting tool geometry and applications
• Experience with vertical CNC machining centers
• Ability to read and interpret advanced drawings with GD&T
• Skills in conceptualizing and sketching tools, fixtures, and gauges

Pay

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $80,400.00 - $120,600.00. The base salary range applies across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and certain locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
