About the role
The Design Engineer IV (Staff) works on high-profile design projects that require new silicon created from either original component manufacturer (OCM) or end-customer databases. This position collaborates closely with Product Engineering and involves cross-functional tasks with other groups such as test, packaging, quality, and production control.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to complete business objectives with clean execution of design tasks.
- Ensure solid silicon design methodology and best practices are employed.
- Communicate clearly with fellow engineers, documenting work performed, schedule estimations, and project challenges.
- Incorporate feedback into proposed solutions from management, customers, and peers.
- Participate in and lead team meetings to discuss work progress and outline project challenges.
- Mentor engineers in practices, tools, and task-specific areas as needed.
- Regularly collaborate on cross-functional and multi-discipline teams across the company.
- Perform other assigned tasks as requested.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (BSEE, BSCS, or BSCE).
- At least 8-10 years of custom silicon design experience.
- Proficient team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to define and execute steps necessary to get a semiconductor design to fab and through manufacturing.
- Experience with job-specific software; may require coding or learning tool/software-specific languages.
- Confidence in proposed solutions and willingness to incorporate feedback for improvement.
