Design Release Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide feasibility input for designs derived from PDO concepts, sketches, and clay models
• Establish and manage the development timeline across the full life of the project
• Develop functional objectives, build objectives, DVP&R, and DFMEA
• Ledesign efforts leveraging external design sources and/or internal CAD resources
• Release completed geometry using CATIA/NX CAD tools
• Validate designs virtually via CAE and physically through component, system, and vehicle-level testing
• Plan and oversee tool construction and production assemblies
• Provide on-site support during vehicle pilot builds and production launch at assembly plants
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for assembly, fit/finish, and functional issues
• Analyze warranty data and identify cost reduction opportunities in production

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience setting and assessing customer-level requirements (internal and external)
• Experience constructing component and full vehicle DVP&Rs
• Experience defining functional objectives and building DFMEA
• Proficiency with NX, Team Center, and change management processes
• Passion for vehicles and ability to assess full vehicle performance characteristics
• Ability to lead large cross-functional teams and close gaps to targets
• Experience with problem root cause methodologies and prevention
