About the Role

You will manage and work with the design, development, launch, and maintenance of desired vehicle tires for Genuine Accessory Products. The role involves managing existing commodities and developing future designs from inception through launch to the end of the vehicle line's life, ensuring new designs meet Design Rules and Requirements. You will handle part designs that may require the development and completion of robustness documents (such as boundary diagrams, DFMEAs, SCCAFs). Project management skills are essential, as the role involves multiple vehicle lines, commodities, and parts. A deep knowledge of data implications and a passion for customer lifetime value are critical, as accessories products drive additional sales of vehicles, parts, accessories, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Creation of Robustness Documents: Warranty Reviews, Boundary Diagram, Interface Matrix and Listing, P-Diagrams, DFMEA, Validation Documents, and Assessments.
  • Support Core Engineering for development, sign-off/approval, and release of Design Rules specifically related to their commodity.
  • Research requirements database, Warranty Data analysis, and Regulation research.
  • Correct release of products.
  • Evaluations (fit-ups, reviews, and test assessments) on vehicles.
  • Completion and uploading of approved installation instruction sheets.
  • Creation and completion of a new design’s engineering documentation (including DVP, CDP, Engineering Milestone Checklist, and/or Carry Over assessments).
  • Deliver products within the agreed-upon launch timing.
  • Support the resolution of all issues identified during development and launch of the product.
  • Uploading of all design-related documentation, including evaluations/assessments, test reports, DVP&R, completed Engineering Milestone Checklists, and/or Carry Over assessments.
  • Training in key areas at the start of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in design and release of functional components and systems integration.
  • Familiarity with engineering and design of automotive parts and systems.
  • Working knowledge of Team Center and Vis Mockup.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with resolving complex issues and effectively communicating to management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of automotive vehicle program timing.
  • Knowledge of Ford Systems: FEDE, WERS, iPDL, TeamCenter Change Management, GCMS, and others.
  • Experience developing, designing, releasing, and validating vehicle accessory products.
  • Experience with CAD and physical schematics.
  • Technical aptitude and a desire to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teams.
  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines: Six Sigma, DFMEA, DVP, Certification Testing, GD&T, DFM, Variation Analysis.
