Design Project Manager

About the Role

Shambaugh is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design Fire Protection Systems for all types of projects, including industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects. You will design layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and create hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications.
• Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups.
• Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred (e.g., Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management) or equivalent experience.
• Fire Protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred.
• AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Hydratec experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and strong organizational skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Pay

Compensation Range: $60,000 - $120,000 annual salary. Other compensation includes a profit-sharing bonus.
