Design Phase Engineer I and II - Power Delivery

Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Design Phase Engineer I and II to support project leadership during the design phase, focusing on customer experience, financial performance, schedule, estimating, design, and planning. The position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, with compensation based on experience and location.

Responsibilities

- Support scope and budget alignment, schedule alignment, and integrated team experience - Manage project budget and scope expectations, and hold team members accountable for milestones - Create and manage project schedules and key milestones - Assist with regulatory approval and permitting process - Identify and escalate technical design and specification concerns - Provide recommendations for programming and conceptual design activities - Coordinate with construction team to incorporate BIM/VDC modeling technology - Assist with project proposal development - Prepare bid packages and contract manuals - Analyze and track LEED requirements - Coordinate document and electronic interface processing - Model and set the tone for customer relations - Gather feedback and clarify during the design process

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Manager, Estimating, or equivalent field - Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills - Detail orientation sufficient to handle multiple project tasks - Basic understanding of construction law and business practices - Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and relevant web applications - Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills - Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies - Open to change and diverse input - Effective communication and active listening skills - Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and inclusive behaviors - Record of including diverse members in challenging tasks

Design Phase Engineer I

- Minimum of two years relevant experience - Base pay range: $82,000 - $110,700

Design Phase Engineer II

- Minimum of four years relevant experience - Base pay range: $91,100 - $123,000
