Design Engineer - Water Resources

Responsibilities

• Develop plans, specifications and estimates for design and permitting services including roadway drainage, open and closed drainage systems, environmental site design, stormwater management (SWM), erosion/sediment control, stream restoration, bridge scour analysis, floodplain studies, hydrology/hydraulics, TMDL, Critical Area, NPDES & MS-4 permits, SWM retrofits and BMPs.
• Assist with project plans under the guidance of project engineers and project managers.
• Utilize hydraulic and hydrologic modeling programs and techniques including TR-20, TR-55, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ABSCOUR, HEC-18 and HY-8.

Qualifications And Skills

• BSCE in Civil Engineering or appropriate discipline
• Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE/EIT) or equivalent
• 2-4 years of design experience in appropriate discipline
• MD SHA and local jurisdictions experience preferred
• Strong CAD skills, working knowledge of Microstation and associated design software
• Strong SWM design that includes BMPS, storm drains, grading, and stream restoration
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft office products and GIS applications
• Ability to work well within a project team by building relationships and teamwork
• High-level of integrity, ethics, quality service, and safety
• Maintain a positive rapport with supervisor and employees
• Ability to travel to project sites

Pay

Expected Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $98,000.00 per year.
