Job Summary

Work assignments are varied and of moderate scope and complexity. Exercise moderate levels of independent judgment along with general guidance to complete an established objective within budget and scheduling constraints. Work primarily with the development or improvement of products, designs, and processes. This will include conceptualization, basic research, planning, design, testing, analysis, prototyping, validation, and implementation. Draw solutions from both formal training and experience. Knowledgeable of common industry concepts, practices, processes, requirements, and procedures. Plan and perform engineering duties for part of a major project or for projects of moderate complexity. May provide work direction to technicians and less experienced engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own small-scale projects and take them from concept to implementation. Obtain buy-in from more senior engineers.
  • Leveraging experience in one or more technical disciplines, resolve most engineering issues without assistance.
  • Leveraging experience in one or more technical disciplines, develop quality expectations and ensure QA protocols are in place for adherence to standards.
  • Establish production procedures, work instructions, QA matrices, and bills of materials for a single product or a specific production activity.
  • Perform modification and refinement of existing product lines.
  • Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.
  • Create new documents such as reports and test plans.
  • Contribute on larger-scale engineering projects.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Working experience in Engineering.
  • Experience in multiple technical disciplines such as polymers, composites, fabrication methods, coatings, castings, or machining.
  • Developing project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective computer skills, including MS Office and MS Project.
  • Developing skills to effectively lead a team.
  • Able to handle most work-related issues, but exercise good judgment on when to request support.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proficient in Catia
  • Comfortable using hand tools.
  • Knowledge of the evacuation equipment industry and SEV products.
