Design Engineer I

Job Responsibilities

• Creatively design field repairs for truss components in accordance with acceptable engineering principles and judgment.
• Design truss components based on specified parameters from customers and use their knowledge of engineering and the building codes along with collaboration with other engineers in the office to ensure their designs protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
• Discusses design modifications and reviews appropriate design methodologies with customers.
• Affiliate, train, and counsel customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems.
• Review results of the truss design software for accuracy and collaborate with other engineers and with the software development team to determine how the software should function.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and building officials on customer component design projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
• Up to 1 Year of related experience required.
• Ability to perform technical skills including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and basic calculus, physics, statistics, and strength of materials, structural analysis.
• Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
• Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Any State Board preferred.

Pay

Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The pay range for this position is estimated at $84,000-$90,000/year.
