About the role
Responsible for various engineering assignments starting from the basic idea and carrying through to the completion of plans. Activities may include developing a new product model or investigating the benefits of a new process. Works with other members of the engineering group and coordinates their specialized contributions to the development of the project.
Responsibilities
- New Product Introduction
- Work alongside the Project Management, Commercial, and Development teams and be responsible for all technical aspects of the New Product Introduction.
- Design of production and development tooling and coordination of tooling purchases.
- Conduct feasibility reviews and technical assessments.
- Perform cost analysis on new designs as well as currently manufactured products.
- Handle data configuration management and ERP configurations.
- Create manufacturing drawings.
- Form and write Bills of Materials, Routers, and Quality Inspection plans to ensure product manufacture is repeatable and consistent with established cost and quality standards.
- Project Planning
- Sealing Solutions Design – Airframe and Engine Seals
- Design to customer or internal specifications.
- Produce concepts, designs, and technical proposals.
- Conduct design validations, FEA, and prototyping.
- Write technical proposals, test plans, and reports.
- Keep knowledge of new materials and technological documents up to date for maximum quality of design and cost effectiveness.
- Assist in customer management of all technical issues relating to new business opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement
- Develop internal systems.
- Support operations and assist in problem-solving.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Work with manufacturing Engineering on the manufacturability of all new designs.
- Maintain cooperative relationships with other managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Respect the confidentiality of Company, vendor, and customer information.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform in an independent manner with little direct supervision.
- Keep abreast of new developments relative to manufacturing, industry trends, competition, applicable legal requirements, etc., as well as new systems and equipment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
- Design Engineer experience: 5+ years (preferred).
- Production/Manufacturing experience: 5+ years (preferred).
- CAD System: SolidWorks (preferred).
Skills
- Strong ability and experience using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
- High proficiency in drawing standards and GD&T.
- Passionate about engineering with a strong understanding of fundamentals.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of quality.
- Experience working within a similar role in a production/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to meet deadlines and prioritize workloads with minimal supervision.
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and MS Access.

Pay
Compensation range: $80,000–$100,000 annually.
