Design Engineer
About the role
The Design Engineer position at Sierra Pacific Windows is responsible for designing, testing, and analyzing new and existing window and door systems. The role involves working closely with suppliers to evaluate components and materials, assisting in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, and providing accurate documentation regarding products.
Responsibilities
- Design, test, and analyze new and existing products
- Aid in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes
- Work with suppliers to evaluate components and materials
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to evaluate product performance
- Assist with testing and certification of products
- Maintain accurate documentation regarding products
- Work in a team environment involving production, customer service, and sales
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in window and door design
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field preferred
- Familiarity with window/door designs and installations
- Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Other Experience and Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have a minimum 2 years of experience in window and door design, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, familiarity with window/door designs and installations, experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD, strong organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
