Design Engineer

About the role

Sandis is currently looking for a Design Engineer to join our team in Oakland, CA. Our ideal candidate has experience with civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including stormwater drainage programs and AutoCAD. Our Projects will include a diverse array of land development site designs.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development of improvement plans including rough/finish grading, stormwater management, and utility plans.
• Design utility systems including water, sanitary, and storm drain.
• Assist with fire flow tests.
• Interact with other members of a design team including Architects, Landscape Architects, and MEP Engineers.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including review of material submittals, answering Requests for Information (RFIs), site observations among other things.
• Conduct engineering assessments.
• Prepare technical engineering reports.
• Collaborate with private, public, and governmental agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• EIT Certification
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Knowledge of utility systems including sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and water distribution
