Design Engineer

What You'll Do

• Support the design of mechanical components and assemblies
• Translate product requirements into clear technical documentation and 3D models
• Maintain the "Product DNA," including Items, BOMs, Routers, and Work Instructions
• Define the sequences and methods required for stable production
• Execute ECR/ECO processes to support product improvements and ensure all technical data remains current and accurate
• Provide real-time troubleshooting on the production floor for issues related to materials, tolerances, or assembly
• Evaluate and implement manufacturing enhancements focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
• Support technical communication with suppliers regarding components or specialized outside processes

What We're Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience: 1–3 years of engineering experience
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation; strong fundamentals in mechanical design and statics
• PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain); Experience with machined, cast, or forged metal components; Familiarity with marine propulsion hardware (rudders, struts, shafts, or couplings); Hands-on experience defining manufacturing routers or work instructions; Exposure to AS9100 or ISO 9001 environments
