Design Engineer

About the role

API Heat Transfer is a global leader in the design and manufacture of specialty heat exchangers and heat transfer solutions with over 140 years of industry-leading performance. We seek talented Design Engineers to support strategic and ongoing customer engagements by providing designs, calculations, drawings, BOMs, and more for both conventional and complex product initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Use ASME code calculations to fulfill complex customer specifications and develop calculation tools where none exist.
• Prepare simple and complex layouts for components and subassemblies, focusing on designing for cost and manufacturability.
• Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, application engineering, and sales to deliver customer projects.
• Support the team with validating each other’s output, analysis of results, and other efforts to produce world-class products.
• Contribute to setting project team priorities and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams to construct project scope and determine costs and manufacturing feasibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Collaborative, analytical, and solution-focused mindset.
• Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment desired.
• Experience in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel design a plus.
• Specializing in Heat Exchangers preferred.

Pay

Pay range: $65,000 – $85,000.
