Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize designs for advanced optical metrology instruments and ultra-precise optical components
- Work independently on design projects, establishing product structures that meet manufacturing, assembly, and testing requirements
- Create solid models of complex, multi-level assemblies and ensure FEA, interference, and tolerance analyses are complete
- Recommend materials and assembly methods, performing necessary calculations in compliance with engineering standards
- Design and drafting. Proficent in creating complex 2D CAD drawings
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
- 3–5 years of related work experience in design engineering
- Experience in solid modeling and knowledge of standard drafting practices, GD&T, and configuration control
- SolidWorks experience; exposure to optical/opto-mechanical design concepts is a plus
