Major Function

Havertys In Home Design (IHD) Internship

We are seeking top Design Students or Recent Graduates to participate in our In Home Design Internship program at Havertys furniture.

Specific Duties

• Work with our Store Manager and Interior Designer
• Learn the Havertys In Home Design Room Creation process in Real Life situations by:
• Converting measured rooms into complete, precise, detailed room plans.
• Using “Loft”, to create complete designs with pre-set rooms.
• Reviewing HD Presentation process. (Homework: take photos of rooms at home)
• Uploading homework photos to client profiles, creating design rooms.
• Observing measure with HD.
• Looking up furniture availability and creating special orders for our customers design requests.
• Prep for observed measure by selecting product, creating 2d, 3d loft models.
• Setting up presentation area and presenting your plan to the HD/Manager.
• Reviewing observation form and receiving feedback from the HD/Manager.

• Must be a supportive team member as you contribute to overall store success and customer satisfaction.
• Must be highly organized and able to maintain a responsive schedule.
• Must display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to connect and establish relationships with a diverse group of customers and Havertys Associates.

Qualifications

• Interior design degree from an accredited college or university; or relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in interior design.
• Positive and engaging personality.
• Creative flare and energetic attitude.
• Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products preferred, but not required.
• Computer proficiency including email experience required; knowledge and use of Office 365 software preferred; Tablet/iPad operation abilities strongly preferred.
• Relevant experience and interest, preferred but not required.

Education and Experience

• Interior design degree from an accredited college or university; or relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in interior design.
