About the role
As a Design Consultant (DC), you will run 2-4 qualified, pre-set appointments per day, generated by aggressive company marketing. Your role is to deliver confident, consultative presentations and drive decisive buying outcomes for homeowners investing in premium outdoor living solutions. This is a closer’s seat, not a training role. Top performers consistently surpass a 25% close rate, generate $125,000–$150,000+ in monthly sales, and operate a strong one-call-close process with disciplined follow-up.
Responsibilities
- Deliver professional, consultative presentations focused on value—not price
- Confidently ask for the sale and drive one-call closes whenever possible
- Own your pipeline from first appointment through installation, following up strategically with issued quotes to maximize close rate
- Generate additional revenue through referrals, repeat business, and local partnerships
- Support nearby territories when needed
- Maintain expert-level CRM pipeline management and communication standards
Requirements
- 2-5+ years of high-ticket, consultative sales experience (in-home sales background preferred)
- Consistently overachieved revenue goals in a commission-based role
- Thrive in a performance-driven environment with clear metrics, taking full ownership of results
- Confident, polished, and highly persuasive in-home, presenting premium pricing
- Strong time, territory, and follow-up management skills
- Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel within assigned territory
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and utilize a ladder for measurements
- Must be available to conduct weekend and evening sales appointments
- Must meet insurance carrier’s minimum age requirement of 21 years
Compensation & Benefits
- Uncapped commission structure—top consultants earn $150,000–$250,000+ annually; average income for newer DCs is $80–$90k
- Salaried training (2 weeks) and salary + commission during ramp-up period (10 weeks)
- Company-generated, qualified appointments (no cold prospecting required)
- $500 monthly car allowance + toll reimbursement

Schedule
