Design Consultant

About the Role

Flooret is looking for interior designers to work as part-time contractors, helping customers choose the right flooring for their space. This flexible role allows you to apply your design expertise remotely, assisting customers who have ordered Flooret flooring samples and need guidance to make confident decisions.

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers by phone or video to discuss their space, style, and flooring options.
• Offer thoughtful, personalized recommendations using Flooret products.
• Help customers compare colors, tones, finishes, and practical considerations.
• Follow up with recommendations and next steps after each consultation.
• Manage your consultation calendar and track customer outcomes.
• Share recurring questions, feedback, and design trends with the Flooret team.
• Occasionally contribute design expertise to Flooret content and creative projects.

Requirements

• Professional design experience, formal training, or a strong equivalent portfolio.
• A great eye for color, materials, and how finishes work together.
• Genuine enjoyment in helping people make design decisions.
• Warm, approachable demeanor and comfort communicating with customers by phone or video.
• Ability to guide customers toward decisions without a hard-sell approach.
• Self-directed with strong time management and follow-through.
• Experience with flooring, renovation, residential interiors, or home brands is a plus.

Schedule

• Remote, part-time contractor role with a minimum 10-hour-per-week commitment.
• Flexible schedule, with availability for evening or weekend consultations preferred.

Pay

• Monthly retainer + per-consultation fee + commission.
