Deputy Program Manager
About the role
The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) will provide direct operational leadership across one or more critical delivery workstreams throughout the full period of performance. The DPM assumes full Program Manager responsibilities in the PM's absence, ensuring continuity of leadership and client relationships at the senior stakeholder level.
Responsibilities
- Directs program leadership duties, including hands-on technical and managerial oversight to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Maintains deep familiarity with all program workstreams and serves as the primary escalation point for delivery teams.
- Contributes meaningfully to the strategic evolution of the program's approach.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive IT program and project management experience on federal government contracts.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a deputy or workstream lead on large-scale federal IT transformation programs.
- Deep knowledge of federal acquisition processes, contract management, and FAR/DFARS compliance requirements.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary delivery teams including developers, analysts, data engineers, and change management professionals.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships at the senior government stakeholder level.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and their application to large enterprise programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field required.
- PMP certification or SAFe certification strongly preferred.
