Deputy Program Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as main point of contact and liaison between internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Principal Investigators, Program Sponsors, organizational leadership and project management teams).
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships on matters of mutual interest.
• Track and report on progress and outcomes.
• Manage key program elements, including but not limited to goals and milestones, risks, available resources, budgets, standard operating procedures, quality control, and results.
• Identify project interdependencies, aligning resources and efforts where appropriate.
• Supervise, advise and guide Project Managers and technical staff throughout the program lifecycle, focusing on the strategic direction of the projects.
• Take corrective action as needed.
• Support and participate in planning, creation and submission of proposals and agreements as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a health, business management or administrative related field required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience working with government agencies, contracting and program management required.
• Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Knowledge of large federal program management and federal budget process required. Ability to use sound judgment in problem solving and excellent interpersonal and communications skills required. Ability to coordinate multiple sites and complex issues at any given time required. Must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
• Required Skills: Solid Interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, build and maintain teams, and identify and resolve problems. Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines. Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software. Prior experiences in the life sciences strongly preferred.
• Required Clearances: US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance, including background check and drug screening.
