Join the Future of Rail: A California-based High-Speed Rail program seeks a visionary leader to join their Executive Operations team as the Deputy Planning & Engineering Director. This role involves shaping the backbone of California's infrastructure through strategic initiatives, innovative advancements, and project excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support program leadership in developing long-term strategic initiatives that impact safety, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Advocate for cutting-edge High-Speed Rail advancements, including high-tech materials and optimized processes, to ensure the system is world-class.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of critical engineering projects across the program life cycle.
  • Analyze program data and operational results to recommend smart adjustments that maintain peak performance levels.
  • Provide expert guidance on alternative analysis and implementation requirements to ensure project phases are successful.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or a related field, with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 4+ years of experience leading teams and managing high-stakes projects in planning, engineering, or auditing.
  • Extensive experience overseeing complex engineering operations and a deep understanding of infrastructure design.
  • The ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse departments.

Qualifications

  • Sector-Specific Success: Proven track record managing public sector projects or working with government agencies.
  • Sustainability Leadership: Deep expertise in environmental compliance and implementing sustainability practices in infrastructure.
  • Systems Integration Mastery: Strong knowledge of systems/network integration and formal certification processes.
  • Tech Proficiency: Mastery of advanced tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, and engineering design software.
  • Professional Credentials: A PE License or PMP Certification.
