Deputy Director Water Engineering & Planning
About the role
The City of Scottsdale is seeking a Deputy Director of Water Engineering & Planning to lead critical initiatives in water supply, treatment, conservation, and long-range infrastructure planning. This role requires a strong background in water-related technical capacities and managerial experience.
Responsibilities
- Plans Water Resources Division capital projects (including associated budget)
- Asset management
- Process control analysis
- Water resources planning/sustainability
- Acts as a technical advisor and performs policy-level coordination, advisory and administrative functions relating to engineering and planning of the water and reclaimed water systems.
Requirements
- Education and Experience - A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, related Physical and Biological Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Nine years of progressively responsible experience in a water-related technical capacity that includes responsibility for program management.
- Five years of managerial experience.
- Must possess and maintain upon hire or promotion, registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona.
Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Arizona.
