About the role

The District Attorney's Office at the County of San Diego is seeking talented Civil Litigation Attorneys to join its Consumer Protection team as Deputy District Attorneys II or III. This is an exceptional opportunity to use your litigation experience to protect the community while advancing your career.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and try criminal or civil cases in the Superior Court under general supervision.
  • Work closely with regulatory or licensing agencies as part of the Consumer Protection Unit.
  • Assist in the prosecution of felony crimes and misdemeanor offenses outside the City of San Diego.
  • Supervise a team of junior deputies in more complex cases.

Requirements

  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Experience as a Deputy District Attorney I in the County of San Diego, or at an equivalent level with another California county or city prosecutorial agency.
  • Experience as an attorney in the practice of criminal and/or civil law.

Qualifications

  • Deputy District Attorney II: One (1) year of experience as a Deputy District Attorney I in the County of San Diego, or at an equivalent level with another California county or city prosecutorial agency.
  • Deputy District Attorney III: One (1) year of experience as a Deputy District Attorney II in the County of San Diego, or at an equivalent level with another California county or city prosecutorial agency.
  • Three (3) years of experience as an attorney in the practice of criminal and/or civil law.

Skills

  • Strong litigation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and licensing processes.

Pay

Compensation for these positions is commensurate with experience.
